L C Jay are engineers and metal founders, manufacturing and machining castings in aluminium, iron, brass, gunmetal, bronze, lead and other metals.
For industrial customers, we produce high-quality components such as machine parts, bearings, engine manifolds, pump housings and impellers. We also have extensive experience in the specialised casting of lead - for containers and shielding in the nuclear industry, for example.
Established in Norwich for more than half a century, the foundry has been the source of much of the fine ironwork to be seen in the city's streets. While we continue to produce castings to complement the environment, we also meet the needs of architects and builders for structural and decorative castings, which are used in new-build projects as well as restoration work.
Although industrial production is the backbone of our business, our skilled workforce are equally at home with one-off prototypes or limited-run decorative and craft castings.
In fact, there is virtually no limit to the areas in which our skills can be applied: yacht keels and bespoke conservatories, village signs and commemorative plaques, fireplace surrounds, umbrella stands - all can be to original designs, or reproduced from existing items.
These traditional skills are coupled with the latest methods of manufacturing and analysis, and ISO 9002 registration demonstrates our total commitment to quality.
